As I wrap up my feature neighborhood of Valley Ranch, I would like to highlight the two new builders coming to the subdivision. CastleRock Communities will be building soon and offering more floor plans at affordable prices. Horizon Homes will be offering modern living and energy efficiency houses.
This is going to be the area to watch with the New Sam's Club opening on Thursday and more stores to be announced or open in the Valley Ranch Center.
What are you waiting on? Call me and let's go look at houses so you can be part of the new development! ~Tara Woolbright, Realtor 713-489-0507 or tara.woolbright@gmail.com

Pinterest January - Living Room
Hi all! Today's evening post is on Living room décor. I love the stone on the fireplace but will talk about in future post. Today I'm focused on the barn doors and repurpose jewelry box into a remote control storage box.
Jewelry box - This is awesome! I never thought about this but what a great idea. Let's face it: remote controls are ugly. However, if we had a cute box to put them in and it would fit with most decors that is almost perfect!
Curtain rods - Taking a board and staining it or painting it, then placing hooks on it is wonderful for my large windows that I was trying to figure out what to do with. This is now on the project list and I will keep you posted on the development.
Finally, the barn doors I would love to do but not sure were this would fit in my house. Maybe if my "mom's room" is developed out then the barn doors for the closet would work great. I like mixing the glass with the doors but the doors are beautiful in stained wood. My dream for the room is to remove items from my grandmother's house that is now vacant and the barn. I would like to put the barn wood on 2 of the walls and have the ceiling in the metal tiles that are in her house. I would even take the chandler that my mom wants and put it in the hallway to the room. My way of honoring my mom and, my namesake, grandma!
I'll keep you posted!

Pinterest - January Outdoor Living
Hello all!
I've started using Pinterest and LOVE IT! So many cool ideas that I will be trying. Please follow me and I will follow you back. Look for tarawoolbright the Realtor and that is me!
I think the recipe for this month has to be the tomato-zucchini try or cauliflower soup. Not sure which one I will pick but both look great. You will find that I will most likely try healthy simple recipes but every once in a blue moon I will add a recipe that is worth the "cheat" day.
I am all about repurposing the things that are a round us. So I will be doing the bird feeder that is a wine bottle (I mean I don't really need a reason to enjoy a good bottle but if it is for the birds that is even better!). The concrete/wood bench is on the list and one of these fire pits has to be built and we will sell this at the Dixie Construction Material shop.
I love, love, love the mason jars that are used to grow herbs. I will be doing this with the glass jars I clean out after I have used them. Plus the wine corks as herb or garden labels is a marvelous idea!
Lots of exciting things to come. So keep me posted and I will keep you. My theory is keep it simple and re-use. I like the idea of Green living and growing gardens because it reminds me of my blessed Grandma Dixie.
Until next time... Tara Texas Realtor ~713-489-0507 or tara.woolbright@gmail.com

Update to Valley Ranch Liquor Petition
Well folks it did not pass. I'm disappointed and frustrated that the petition did not receive the 4500 register voters from this county that were needed to pass a petition that would have increased property values by bringing in economic development. The representative said that they would try again in the summer.
I can't emphasize enough how important this is to our community. The jobs and money that will come to the area with the changes would create us more opportunities and other economic developments.
See ya in the summer!

East Montgomery Liquor petition - New Caney, TX
Today is the big day for the new Valley Ranch Center that is being developed and if Specs is going to be moving in soon. A little back ground: Montgomery county in Texas has several precincts and a couple of them (East Montgomery county) still has the liquor laws from the probation. To get the law overturned, there has to be 4500 registered voters in the precinct to sign that they want it overturned. If that is achieved then it will go to the ballot and voted on by the community.
Why is this important?
This is important to the development due to economic and business development. If you are a restaurant you have to go to The Woodlands/ Spring area to buy your liquor. It has to be purchased in the same county as the establishment. Going the 10 minutes down 59 to Kingwood Specs is not an option. Very few businesses will travel the small distance to buy their liquor. Thus results in the area not being able to develop and attract the nicer restaurants which in return attract other businesses. It also keeps the revenue in the area; not sending it to The Woodlands.
The area is a hidden gem. It is beautiful and offers great opportunity for business to develop and families to grow. With a great location to 99 and 59, it offers quick transportation to other areas in Houston. In addition to the close proximity to Bush airport and now with 99 connecting a 15 minute commute to 45, it is ideal for growth.
I can't wait to see the results. I hope all the efforts pay off and they were able to collect the needed signatures. Stay tuned ... more to come. Tara Woolbright your Realtor of Choice -713.489.0507
